Your medication,
made the way you
need it to be
How compounding
benefits you
Not every medication fits every patient. You could be allergic to a filler or dye, unable to swallow a tablet, require a dose that is not commercially available, or need a medication that has been discontinued.
That is where compounding comes in. The same active ingredients found in commercial medications are prepared to the exact specifications required by your prescription.
This means that the pharmacist you speak with when picking up your prescriptions is the same person who oversaw your medication from start to finish.
Your medication’s form matters as much as the dose
The form your medication takes affects everything: How easy it is to use/take, how well it works and how consistently it is absorbed in your body.
Alternative delivery methods our compounding pharmacists can create include:
- Oral liquids: flavoured for children and adults who cannot swallow tablets
- Oral rinses/mouthwashes: for oral mucocytosis
- Nail lacquers: for fungal nail infections
- Transdermal creams and gels: targeted, customizable medication delivery with steady absorption through the skin.
- Custom-dosed capsules: precisely tailored medication doses for individualized treatment needs
- Sublingual drops, troches and films: absorbed under the tongue or through the cheek
- Suppositories: where oral or topical routes are not appropriate
- Topical foams: for dermatological conditions and hair regrowth
Getting this right matters when you are relying on your medications to deliver consistent results in your everyday life.

Why choose Remedy’sRx Progressive Pharmacy?
Over a decade of compounding experience
Standard pharmacies dispense what’s already manufactured. We compound what is not: a liquid for a child who can’t swallow a tablet, a topical cream instead of a pill, a hormone formulation matched to your levels. Precise dosages in the right form, when you need it. Personalized care, Progressive solutions.
Pharmacists who know you personally
When you pick up your medication from us, you are speaking with the same team that formulated it. There is no handoff to a technician who does not know your history, no reading from a script. If you have questions, the person who formulated your medication is right there to answer them. That kind of continuity and care is our standard.
Fast turnaround without cutting corners
Most of our compounds are ready within 24-48 hours. That speed comes from having the right equipment, trained staff dedicated to compounding, and labs that operate as self-contained units within the pharmacy. When you need a formulation and have tried everywhere else, we know what that situation feels like, and we move accordingly.
The most exceptional pharmacy experience I have ever had. The time and care spent with me, ensuring I was provided with the exact compound I required — was so helpful and supportive. Arch is a knowledgeable and caring human/pharmacist.
Our regular pharmacy said they would take 5 days to compound a medication that our son needed, and nothing could be done to make it sooner. When we went to Progressive they apologized saying it would be an hour, and sorry it would take so long.
Precision that you can
count on
In many compounded medications, the active ingredient can be as little as one milligram spread throughout an entire cream or formulation.
For it to work properly, the total amount of medication must be evenly distributed across each dose. If it’s not, one application may deliver too little, while another may deliver too much. That is why we use planetary mixing technology — equipment that rotates on multiple axes simultaneously to achieve even dispersion in every batch.
That way, your prescription performs the same way on day one as it does on day 30, an especially important factor for patients managing hormone levels, pain, or any condition where consistency matters clinically.
The credentials behind
the compounds
Our facility meets all Ontario regulatory requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous compounding, including a dedicated negative-airflow lab space required for hormone preparations. Our team holds certifications from industry-recognized leaders in compounding education and standards.
Beyond equipment and training, we regularly submit finished compounds for independent third-party laboratory testing so you know any medication you get from us contains what you expect.
Talk to a compounding pharmacist today
Long waits, unavailable medications, and questions that never got answered — that does not have to be part of your experience. It is why we built Progressive Pharmacy differently, and why patients who made the switch say they wished they had done it sooner.
Answers to most common questions
Do I need a prescription for a compounded medication?
In most cases, yes, compounded medications require a valid prescription from a licensed prescriber. If you are currently on a commercial medication and wondering whether a compounded alternative might work better for you, we can likely work with your doctor to explore that. Ask us.
Does my insurance cover compounding?
Coverage varies by plan and is improving as compounded hormones and specialty formulations become more widely recognized. We will help you understand what is and is not covered.
How long does it take to prepare a compounded medication?
Most compounds are ready same-day or within 24 hours. Turnaround depends on the formulation and complexity of the preparation. When you contact us, we will provide you with a timeline right away.
I moved away from Burlington. Can I still use you for compounding?
Yes. We ship compounded medications and work with patients and prescribers across Ontario, and in many cases across Canada. Call us at 289-245-1616, and we will sort out the details.
Do you keep my medications in stock?
Compounded medications are prepared fresh for each patient rather than kept on a shelf, which is actually part of what makes them more precise. Because we are making your specific formulation to your prescription, no pre-made stock is required. If you have a recurring prescription, we can coordinate timing so your medication is ready when you need it.
